Puffer vest in Snowy Stewart tartan

I’ve been looking at various iterations of this vest the past few holiday seasons and finally took the plunge. I bought my usual size. Upon taking it out of the package, it looked like a men’s garment. I think most people could size down, probably two sizes. If J Crew offered a smaller size, I would have purchased it. I like the vest but the sizing and shape is … meh. J Crew needs to offer XXXS in everything if they’re going to keep sizing like this. I own other outerwear in XXS, this is comparatively larger. I’m currently wearing the vest *over* a puffer and there is ample room for more layers. The pockets are nice but if you put anything in them it will add more bulk. Lining in the hand pockets would be a nice addition. I’m keeping the vest, obviously. I plan to add a drawcord to the bottom to improve the fit. If that doesn’t work, at least this vest will fit my husband.

I find that Jcrew sizing varies for me. In vests I usually wear a small, however a small was extremely big. I exchanged for an XS and honestly could have gotten an XXS for a more fitted look. That being said, now matter what size (I recommend trying on I possible), you’re going to love it.

Ordered this expecting it to be a traditional vest with a bit more room. Unfortunately it sizes about a size smaller than other items. Super cute in person, just recommend ensuring it will work for you.
