New Perfect Winter parka

I wanted to love this parka because the hardware and style are super cute, but it’s just enormous, not flattering, bulky and weighs a ton! I wore it for 20 mins in steady rain and it was completely soaked through and my sweater was wet underneath: Ordered this on a deep discount final sale so I couldn’t return.

I recently made an online purchase which due to a glitch was duplicated. When I came to pick up my item at store #653, Del went out of his way to help me correct the duplicate order. It also turned out 1 item was cancelled and he called another nearby store to see if they had it in stock which they did! Del was so helpful and made my experience with J. Crew that much more pleasant. I will definitely go back to this store and shop in person with Del.

This is a fantastic coat if you order the correct size! I read the reviews and ordered an XS in the moss color (would normally order a medium if I wanted to be able to wear a sweater underneath or a Small if I only intended to wear a light layer under the coat) and it fits perfectly - can even layer under it! For reference, I am 5’5” and about 125 lbs. It will not look bulky if the right size is ordered. The quality is top notch. This is an incredibly well-made item and sure to keep you warm. It has a beautiful quilted silk lining and the outer material is very durable. Yes, the strings are long, but just knot them. Really not a big deal. Overall, this is both a beautiful and practical coat!

I just got this on sale and am very happy with it. It's perfect for NYC winters that are generally in the mid-30s Fahrenheit, and where so much of getting from place to place involves WALKING. Sure, warmer coats would be appropriate but you'll start sweating walking to the subway, gym, cafe, etc. I think this is the best of both worlds: warm enough to keep you cozy if you're wearing a sweater, but breathable enough that you'll *stay warmer* because your body won't try to cool you down through perspiration. I got the X-small which fits me well. I'm 5'2", around 143 lbs, with broad shoulders, hips, and wear a C cup, in case that helps. Also, the shipping was insanely quick. I deducted one star for quality because the chainlink coat hook broke after one day.
