9'' mid-rise toothpick jean in Marine wash

My new go to jeans. They don’t feel quite the quality that my earlier jcrew jeans have. I don’t think they’ll last quite as long but they are comfortable and I’m wearing them all the time. They fit a little larger than the other styles that I have.

These don’t seem to be quite as structured as my other jcrew jeans. Maybe it’s just a roomie fit? I usually wear a 28 or 29. 29 is roomie. These fit more like a 29 even though they’re a 28. But they are comfortable. I’ve enjoyed wearing them. For help with sizing I fluctuate between a size 6 or 8 depending on the cut. These pants are a little roomie in the legs than a typical toothpick cut from jcrew. I have thin legs and a rounder middle. 28s fit fine but I wonder if a smaller size could have worked—might have pinched me at the belly, but probably would have fit my legs better.

I love the color of these jeans, and they are soft. They have some stretch which is nice. They fit big. They have a few small rips. One in a pocket and 3 or 4 tiny rips in random places on the legs, but those are more scratches than rips, since they don’t go all the way through the fabric. I think jeans should either be really ripped or not ripped, but it’s OK. These don’t fit or feel like toothpick jeans to me. They fit on me like they are in between straight leg jeans and toothpick jeans. I think they look nice, and once they shrink some, they will be perfect for me.
