Christopher John Rogers X J.Crew sculpted dress in duchesse satin

There is no possible way they did not photoshop or pin the back of this dress in the model photo. I bought this on sale so I can not return. I took a chance and definitely didn’t work out. The front is sculpted and would fit well if I had a bust but the 0 is still too big overall. The back of the dress has so much fabric and pleating completely different than the photo so for that I am super disappointed in these stock photos! If it were just big in waist and bust I would have altered but this is unfixable. For reference I am 5’5 125lbs 34a. The material and construction is the only good thing about this dress. A beautiful, stiff, thick satin.

I went by the reviews which have this dress running small and ordered 1 size up. For reference I’m 5’ 8.5” tall and 130 lbs with a slender/athletic frame. Because I have an athletic back and shoulders, I tend to fit in a size 6-8 Tall in dresses. I’m a size 4-6 Tall in pants and skirts. I was concerned about the tightness of the top (according to a couple of reviews). The size 8 is huge on me (top and bottom). Be aware that this fabric is beautiful, but very thick- almost like a scuba fabric and pooches out like a BALLOON at the weird pleats in front and back. Although the model pictured in this dress online is thin, there must be some pinning/tailoring going on in that photo. I’m very disappointed because at this price point, I was hoping for a beautiful, classic statement dress that could even be worn to a more formal and classy engagement. The fabric and concept are great- the reality is an odd fit at best. It’s long and elegant even for someone taller. I don’t understand the excessive, stiff fabric below the waist. Really sad I can’t exchange this for a size down since it wasn’t in a store to try on before buying. Buyer beware.

This dress is stunning! It makes much more of a statement in person, it’s very elegant! The structure gives this dress a classic feel, I felt fabulous! I’m 5’1 so I was nervous about the length; however I wore 4 inch heels which gave me the perfect height for this dress. I have a 25 inch waist and ordered a size 2. Perfect!! Beautiful dress. Elegant and versatile.

This dress has so much potential. I am a size 4 or small in nearly all JCrew tops, pants, and dresses, but this dress runs super small on top and wide through the hips. It doesn’t lay well on the body. For reference, I am 5’9’’, a 34D, and weigh 140.

Beautiful dress. Runs very on top and large on the bottom. An odd fit
