Dress up or down staple

Not what I expected
August 26, 2025The fabric is thin and the style is not what I expected from the model. I thought about buying two colors, but finally to purchase one color first. I am glad that I didn’t buy both because I didn’t wear the dress even once.

Beautiful Red Dress--Runs Small at the Bust
July 31, 2025I have a collection of J. Crew sundresses that I have purchased over the years, almost always in a size XL, sometimes in a L. I am 5'9" with a broad back and 42C bra. J. Crew XL has been a guaranteed good fit for me for many years--with the exception of this dress. I would say that this dress in XL runs more like a J. Crew L. I can get the dress on, but it is very tight around the bust. I know how to sew and can alter the dress using extra material from the hem. However, if you are a tall girl or a busty girl, you may want to size up on this dress. I think an XXL would be a good size for somebody who is a size 14 or 16 with this one.
