Seamed suit dress in houndstooth wool blend

The other reviews are correct that this dress runs a full size smaller. I went one size up and the fit was perfect with a bit of wiggle room. It falls 1-2 inches above my knee so it is a decent length for someone who is average height. The material is also not scratchy despite being a wool-blend. I look forward to wearing it often in fall.

I’ve wanted a dress in this style for a long time—classic and tailored, yet still a little casual. The fabric is absolutely beautiful and feels very high quality. The only disappointment was that the color is not as light as it appears on the model. I also didn’t like that the lining is made of 100% polyester. That feels quite uncharacteristic of J.Crew, especially considering the quality they are known for. Based on previous reviews, I ordered one size up, and I regret it because the dress is a little loose on me. For reference, my usual dress size is 4, but I purchased a size 6. My measurements are 34B bust, 25-waist, 5’7” tall, and 130 pounds.
