Fits small based on
6 customer reviewsWhat customers are saying:
Customers consistently loved the luxe silk, beautiful drape, and polished look, especially the contrast piping and overall classy vibe. The main theme was fit: many suggested sizing up, sometimes quite a bit, because the waist sits unusually high and can feel more like an empire cut. Several customers still found it flattering once they got the right size, and the removable sash helps make the shape more customizable. Overall, it sounds like a really pretty dress with a standout finish, but the fit can be a little tricky.

Irritating missized waste of money
July 2, 2021Unfortunately I didn't read the other reviews first before purchasing. Indeed, the placement of the waist for this dress is way off! It is somewhere between a regular waist and empire waist and throws off the drape of the dress. I'm irritated that I spent my money on a dress that is unwearable due to the terrible design and sizing, yet I can't return it because it's final sale. Products that are flawed should be returnable. Also, the bodice is too small, making it very awkward when trying to take the dress off.

gorgeous dress - runs SMALL
June 3, 2021I followed the advice from a previous reviewer saying to size up about 3 sizes. I usually wear a medium in J.Crew dresses (which would be a size 8/10). I ordered this dress in a size 12 and it fits perfectly. I'm pear shaped with much wider hips than shoulders/chest, if you're large chested you might need to size up even more. I knocked off one star because the waist on this thing is oddly high. As in, it sits really just under my boobs. I'm 5'6 and I can barely make it work (thankfully, because I got it on final sale); but if you're taller, it might just look really odd on you. Overall it's a very pretty dress, despite the odd fit. The contrast piping details are really lovely. I'd style this with a pair of oxford shoes for a dressier look or Converse shoes for a more playful one. If you get this, just be sure to size up!!

You just have to go up 3 sizes
April 1, 2021This is really beautiful silk with a buttery hand-feel and good weight for drape, skirt (not top) is lined. After reading the other reviews I ordered a 16 (I am usually a 10 in dresses like this) and it fits much better than I expected. I would’ve thought the shoulders would droop and the cuffs would be comically large but NOT SO. Makes me think it was just sized wrong cuz the shoulders are just fine (tho I have broad shoulders) and the cuffs were not any larger than I would expect, the waist is still a bit high but it has a belt for customization so it’s very flattering. The piping is so well done. Its a shame this beauty was sized so wrong. If you’re brave enough, try going up 3 sizes.
