Cute summer dress
July 29, 2020Dress is very cute and lined, but does run small if you are larger chested or larger waist, I was barely able to button up.

Beautiful Summer Dress
July 17, 2020Let me start by saying the sizing on this dress is pretty wonky. I read all the reviews to try to pick my right size since this dress was on final sale. I ended up buying a size 2 and for the most part it fits and looks lovely. I'm 5'1", 123 lbs, 36C bust and 30" waist. On me, the bust was a little loose (nothing too obvious), the waist was a tad snug (again nothing too obvious) and I was able to cinch it in and keep it in place with the belt. Overall I'm really happy with this dress. Yes the linen is heavy, but it feels like it's holding me in and shaping me so I don't mind it. The straps were a bit loose on me (they're not adjustable) but that's probably because I'm petite. It's long on me (hits under the calf) but it still looks great with my espadrilles. I didn't expect to like this dress so much but I'm really glad I got it.

Maybe okay with alterations.
July 10, 2020If this wasn’t a final sale item, I would return it. The fabric quality is very nice, but too thick for the style of dress which makes it appear off. Based on my measurements, I ordered a 2, but maybe a 0 would look better. As others have said, the bust is baggy. The length is nice, but due to the weight of the fabric it flares away from the body. I’m going to take it in all over to see if it helps the appearance. Also removing the ruffles. They are too heavy for my frame.

Who Knows What Size is Right
July 9, 2020Spent about 2 hours debating which size to get on this final sale item, looking over reviews on this and similarly crafted dresses to figure out what would work for me. Decided finally to go with the "recommended size", a 6. Well, it arrived today and I am rather surprised to find it's not just slightly too big for me, it's about a whole to half size too big! It mostly fits around my waist, but for some reason, the extra fabric at the chest is enough for me to go up at least two cup sizes. I'm not sure why J. Crew has such a confusing and misleading size chart, but I guess I know not to buy final sale anymore. Can't decide if it would have been better to size down as I think the waist would have been too small and caused gaping at the buttons. I figured if the dress was too big, I would be able to tailor it. At this size, I'm better off trying to resell it. For those who are similarly confused by the size chart: I am 5'4", 140 lbs, 36B chest with a 28-29 waist.

Nice color but,,,
July 9, 2020I bought this dress in high hopes based on the previous reviews. Colors and structure of the dress is fine but skirt part is waaaay too heavy and hot. for this kind of strap dress. Cannot wear this dress as it is for the hot summer. I may have to try this in late summer or fall with under shirt with jacket or cardigan since bottom is too heavy and hot for mid summer in DC. I really wish skirt part was more breezy. Cannot return since I got this on final sale. Also, I will have to see how the structure and color holds up after wash and hoping not too wrinkly to wear without ironing.
