Fits slightly small based on
6 customer reviewsWhat customers are saying:
Customers love the retro, feminine look of this dress, and several said the silhouette feels flattering and fun. The biggest consistent drawback is the fabric quality, which many customers felt was thinner or cheaper than expected for the price. Fit seems a bit body-type dependent, but some customers found it true to size and nicely drapey once they got the right size.

Ugly Dress
April 16, 2022This runs small in an awkward way. The sleeves below the tie are really unattractive on me. Maybe if I had sized up beyond any size I have ever worn in J Crew (to 6/8) the overall effect would have been okay, but I doubt it. It fits; there's a side-zip and functional front buttons, so the bodice/waist area isn't bad, but everything around the bodice/waist looks really stodgy. I've had dresses in a similar cut which have fit nicely. The color is drab and the feel of the fabric is unpleasant, almost scratchy--the kind of fabric that's white on the inside, which seems cheap and is probably part of the problem. I like a midi length but the cut of the skirt is unattractive too. Unfortunately, while the dress was still pricey it was on final sale and I didn't see the reviews until after I purchased. Since I'm stuck with it, I might hem to above knee and shorten sleeves to try as a casual summer dress... 2 stars versus 1 for quality just for the buttons...

At first I thought it was too small
April 9, 2022…and then I discovered the side zipper! It’s a perfect blend of retro styling details, right down to the fabric, color and pattern. I love the covered buttons and wore it with some undone. Also paired with a denim jacket and white slip-on sneakers for the quintessential N. California Spring casual look. The fit is perfect and I love the length. I would love to find other colors in the same style and that’s the only sad thing I will say about this dress!
