Buy this dress
December 16, 2021What a great throw-on dress! The colors, cut, and flow are gorgeous. I purchased my usual Medium in cotton J.Crew dresses (130lbs, 5'5, 36B, don't like dresses too tight post-wash/dry), and it was perfect. It does show your shape a bit, so if you have *massive* bulge areas, it's not the most forgiving. But I'm not in perfect shape, and it looks good enough! Cannot wait to pair this with boots or flats and get to stepping.

Perfectly preppy
November 11, 2021Love J. Crew and love this dress. Happy to see a midi that's not ruffled or flouncy. This dress suits this more conservative girl just fine! Great fabric and love the subtle striping. Please bring back this silhouette for spring!

Great dress!
November 10, 2021This dress is fitted in the arms and throughout the bodice and it flairs out at the hips, making it very flattering as well as forgiving. It’s very comfortable with plenty of stretch. I plan to wear it with my chunky lug sole ankle boots.

Versatile Dress
October 21, 2021I had a hunch this would be a perfect dress with endless possibilities for styling so I ordered it in two different colors and am SO glad I did. The fabric is a Tencel blend so it's as soft as can be. It is a smidge thinner than I thought it would be so as the temps continue to drop I will be layering on top with a cardigan and underneath with tights. I usually wear a size 2/4 or small in J.Crew and ordered a small in this item as well. I could have taken a xs and been just fine. Looking forward to wearing this all fall/winter/spring long!

Flimsy fail
October 19, 2021I can't believe J. Crew ever expected anyone to pay full price for this flimsy, cheap-feeling material. I have no problem with Tencel, but this ribbed variety is shockingly lightweight and thin. Even nude underwear shows through. (I got navy and black stripe; will try dark undergarments and see if that helps.) Online, the dress looks appropriate for cold weather, but don't be fooled, you'd freeze your tush off! It's essentially cheap thermal underwear masquerading as a dress but more of a nightgown. Too bad, because with more substantial fabric--thicker cotton or cotton/elastane blend--this could have been a great dress, with a slimming, elongating look thanks to no seam at waist. I'm 5'5", 150 lbs, 34DDD. Medium fits fine, loose enough not to show lumps and bumps, but I just can't get over how thin and flimsy this is. Feels like it'll stretch out and loose shape quickly. Can't return--final sale. Major fail, J. Crew, even at sale price, and ESPECIALLY for anyone who paid full price.

Poor fit in sleeves
October 14, 2021I was excited to get this dress to wear to work with flats or boots. However, the fit was enough of a disappointment that it's going to the thrift shop. The body of the dress fit fine and TTS, but the sleeves were short and baggy under the arms. Perhaps this would work for a large busted person, though I'm not certain. I am a 36A. It seemed like a cheaply designed/made item. :(
