V-neck smocked-waist dress in cotton poplin

Another cute white dress for summer. Liked the fabric. Bottom looks chic. Good for nights out!

I brought this dress for my Greek vacation. The fit and color was amazing

I really wanted to love this dress, and I examined the photos and reviews carefully. I bought an 8 in White online. But when it arrived, the bodice barely covered my B cups, the straps dug into my shoulders at full length, and the demarcation from the smocked waist to the bodice was sloppy. And major side bosom exposure. Tailoring won't fix it. On the positive side, the fabric is lovely, the bodice is lined, and the skirt is not lined but doesn't need. It's possible those issues would be fixed if I purchased an 8 Tall. I'm 5'11", but I'm not really long in my torso, and the skirt is plenty long enough, tho it's possible the bodice has better coverage in Tall. I'm not hopeful though as the bodice is ruched at bottom rather than properly tailored and darted, which would give smooth fit and support. And with the mostly backless style, not likely bra friendly. I really wanted to like this one, but doesn't work. Try before you buy. I bought final sale so can't exchange.

I stalked this dress for a while before finally going for it. It runs quite large. I am 5’ 5” and 174 pounds with 36B bust, 35 inch waist, 42 inch hips. I got the black in Size 8 after reading it runs large; because of the very stretchy bust area where it is smocked, I could probably have gone down to a 6. It hits at my ankles, so a slight heel is a must (espadrille wedges are perfect). The dress has a bit of a ballooning effect, so if your torso is on the shorter side, this may be something to consider as it could make you look stumpy on top (may help to cinch with a belt, or wear with a cropped, fitted blazer or cardigan). However, it does help to hide a rounder tummy. The overall effect is very elegant and lovely, and I plan to wear this well into the fall :) I also feel this would be stunning in silk, or a slightly more lightweight poplin (would help it flow/drape better from the smocked bust). If you’re on the fence, I’d go for it and advise sizing down by 1 or 2 sizes.

I recently purchased the v- neck dress and I absolutely love it! I am 5’3 and 120 lbs. I purchased a size 6 and it fits like a dream! The detailing on this dress is beautiful!! I highly recommend!
