Squareneck denim mini dress

I bought this on a whim b/c it was so inexpensive on sale. I agree with the previous reviews- the cut is cute and doesn’t give off maternity vibes like some empire cut dresses can. I bought the long sleeved smocked denim dress from the spring sale and it just wasn’t quite right on me, but this one works well. The sleeves were really poofy out of the bag, but calmed down after washing. My only complaint would echo a prior review where the reviewer said it’s hard to find a bra that won’t show- the square neck is just slightly too wide to keep any of the strapped bras I have from peeking out. I guess a strapless bra would do the trick if the sleeves stay put.

I ordered my usual JCrew size 6. I always like denim outfits and this dress is cute. My only problem with this dress is the sleeves part is a little big. There are snap buttons to secure your bra straps to hold your sleeves in place, which is a good design. However, it shows a little of your bra in the front no matter which bra I own. If I use a strapless bra, the sleeves will fall off my shoulders, even though there is some built in rubbery strips supposedly to prevent the sleeves from falling off your shoulders. Anyway, I hope this is only my issue.

Love this dress. Size is spot on. will wear through fall with my tall suede brown boots or booties. Will break it out next spring/summer with sandals, flips or sneaks Very flattering. Still giving it a five even though it lacks pockets
