Tie-front voile cover-up midi dress in marigold blooms

Thank you J Crew for finally making a dress with the right fit! Everything lately seems to be made for large and large-chested women. It’s so hard to find dresses for athletic build. This is absolutely a perfect fit. I love that the top is somewhat adjustable so you can get it nice and snug. It’d give it 20 stars if I could! Fabric is light and airy but not too sheer. Color is so pretty.

I'm a small in JCrew (36C), small-waisted, 5'5. The proportions of this dress did not work on my body. The dress has three elasticized ties--one at the top of the dress, one that should go under the bust, and one at the waist. The second tie hit mid-bust, not beneath my bust, and looked incredibly unflattering (it made the dress tent over my bust). You would have to be a B cup or smaller for the fabric to sit beneath your bust. Moreover, the fabric between the second and third tie ballooned out, making me look as though I had a pocket of fat around my waist. The dress also poofed a lot around the hips, but that could be solved with a good steam. On the upside, the fabric is very lightweight, the pattern lovely, and the color a fantastic shade of green.
