Point Sur canyon high-rise boyfriend jean in Arctic Blue wash: selvedge edition

Wash was not as advertised. Fit was balloon-y to the point of clownish. Don’t bother.

I sent my first order back and reordered these in a 23, a size smaller than previously (24) which was my normal size. Now they fit much better everywhere including the length! No, it doesn’t fit my short frame the same as the model pictured, but I’m only 5-1” and never expected that. It does come to the floor cuffed and with heeled clogs or boots, that will be fine. (with the 24 I had to make huge 5” cuffs to come to the ground) I feel like there was a big difference in length from the 23 to 24. I will say that the two pairs I ordered were exactly the same color as the model is wearing. For size reference, I’m 5’1”, 116lbs.

I'd had my eye on these jeans for a while, and was glad to nab them at a really deep discount. Fit is excellent -- hugs without squeezing in the waist and hips -- and is super-easy and relaxed through the thighs, which is exactly what I was looking for. The quality of the material is also excellent. I love 100% cotton denim, and these have the kind of give that allows them to drape perfectly, but doesn't completely take away the shape. I knew the 31" inseam would be a bit long for me, but hoped a hot wash and dry would shrink them up a bit. No dice! Frankly, that speaks well to the jeans' construction, fabrication, and production. I'll happily deal with it! My only complaint: The wash doesn't reflect what's in the photo. The non-faded parts aren't nearly as dark as they appear, and that bums me out, because that's one of the things that sold me on these jeans. Otherwise, a perfect pair of jeans.

I was excited to buy these even though they were on final sale and, therefore, a gamble. That excitement ended when I opened the bag and saw that the color is a pale, green-tinted blue not even remotely close to the medium wash pictured in the photos. It's as though I ordered a totally different pair of jeans. I actually checked the bag and tags just to make sure they corresponded with the order. They do – J. Crew is just falsely advertising the product. As for the fit, the legs are cut much more loosely than pictured, while the waist is severely nipped in. They're a "balloon" jean, not the gently relaxed fit that's pictured. The cut creates an unflattering bulge of extra fabric between your waist and your hips, so if that's the kind of thing you enjoy, maybe you'd like these. As for me, I reached out to J. Crew and requested a return in spite of them being on final sale because they're so grossly misrepresented. Save yourself the hassle and stay FAR away from these jeans!

I’ve had my eyes on these jeans for months and was so happy to see them on sale. I read mixed reviews on size, so ultimately I went with my normal size of 24. It’s big and way too long on my 5’2” frame. I had to cuff these 5” and they still came to the floor! (short ppl problems) I really wish these came in petite! If I could exchange these, I’d go with a 23. The quality of the jeans are great and style as well. If you’re in between sizes, I’d go down. The 24 isn’t awful on me, but I’d definitely prefer the 23. Legs would still be big as the boyfriend style should be.
