Full-length demi-boot jean in Emporio wash

I was really excited to receive these jeans and to get back to wearing this style. However, I ordered my usual size and when I tried it on, I couldn't even button it. Clothing size disparity is real. As I told my husband, I took a gamble and this time I lost.

I am consistently 26R in Jcrew jeans, and have nearly a dozen demi boot crop in 26R, they are the best fitting jeans for my straight body. Read reviews saying run small, I ordered the full-length one size up 27R, it was too big. I can stack my two hands together and fit both hands into the waist gap. The sit area is very baggy, no way to look as flattering as my demi boot crop in 26R. The crotch area does run a bit tight, but that's because I keep pulling the jeans up. Even worse is the back pockets are bigger therefore longer than 26R's, the larger and lower pockets visually drag my butts down, a very unflattering rear view. Even though the jeans might shrink if put in a hot dryer, the pockets will not change. Pro- I was concerned the full-length might be too long ( i have relatively shorter legs although I am 5'6"), but the length is right, I can wear flats with them. Material is thick and soft, and drapes well. I wished I could reorder my normal 26R, but it's out of order. 

You can read the reviews of other buyers for perspective but try the styles and see what works based on your unique body type. I recommend these and they fit well. I got my normal size and they are fitted through the hip and thigh, they have a nice flair/boot cut as stated. They will work well with a flat or a heel. I feel like they have enough give to pull them up but they are structured. I am curvy in the hips and thighs and have a butt for sure so I was pleasantly surprised. I have a lot of everything - J. Crew so I know what may or may not work. I got both colors during the sale so glad I did. They need a black pair in the same style.

I have a closet full of J Crew jeans and definitely know my size - 26 in boyfriend styles, 27 in everything else. I ordered my usual 27 and these are about two sizes too big! They actually seem more like a curvy fit, with lots of extra room in the hips and thighs. Given a number of reviews noting these run a bit small, makes me wonder if I received the right pair? J Crew is usually very consistent in size, not sure what happened with this style. Disappointing that I can't return or wear, was looking forward to a full length style for a change.

I normally wear a size 27 in J Crew denim, so took a chance and ordered my usual size, despite reading that these jeans have little to no stretch. 135lbs, 5'8" . They were way too small - could not even attempt to zip them up, let alone button them. Not even sure a 28 would fit. Final sale, so I can't exchange them for a bigger size - otherwise I'd try another pair.

First off I’d like to say I have a pretty decent collection of J Crew jeans. I absolutely love J Crew Jeans. Their fit, texture, color and wash. Lately I’ve been buying every cropped jean they sell. But recently I’ve been looking for a full length and boy was I happy to see these. I decided to try them on at the store. The fit was fantastic. Perfect length. A little boot and love the vintage wash look. I will say I’m usually a 26 and had to size up to a 27 which still fit snug. But the jean has stretch to it so it was a comfortable fit. For ref, I’m 5’6” and 138lbs.
