High-rise tapered pant in lightweight houndstooth wool

Wish I had read reviews prior to purchasing. The fit is terrible. Am in agreement with other reviewers, the slacks fit tight across the hips. Also the description is slightly misleading. They are not houndstooth but are heathered.

You take a risk when you order final sale. In this case, it was a poor decision on my part. I order most of my suits and workwear from Crew. This is (by far) one of the worst fits I have ever had over the years. Very snug in the hips and thighs. Sizing up would likely (speculating here) help in the hips/thighs, but the fit of the rest of the pants is off as well. These look like they would fit like a simple straight leg if I had the "right" size.

These are the pants of my nightmares. Granted I am pear-shaped...I’ve had a lot of success recently with tapered pants and perhaps let my guard down by the name of the pants, but these are tight around the hips and thighs in a terrible way - like just stumpy. Looking at the photo now, I can see that they’re not tapered at all. In the photo, those aren’t pleats doing down the leg...they’re wrinkles. No room in the hips and just hugs all the wrong places...looks like something J.Crew would have made in 2008 or something. What’s most disappointing is that the rise is mid-rise rather than high-rise. Maybe it could be that I have a longer waist than others, but I haven’t had an issue with any other J.Crew pants described as high rise, but the waist hits below my belly button. Maybe sizing up would allow for some breathing room, but unfortunately these are on final sale. I got the matching jacket, which I’ll have to mix and match because I probably won’t even want to try them on again.

These are a very nice cut and fit but the fabric is pretty soft so might not hold a press. They are an attractive light "bankers gray" not hounds tooth. They were too long for me and my seamstress is taking a covid break so I ha to return them
