Relaxed-fit washed cotton poplin shirt in mini gingham

This is the perfect "boyfriend shirt" because it is long, wide shouldered, baggy in the sleeves and body, but the cuffs are shorter and hit perfectly + there are nice slits at the scooped hems. I like to wear this un-buttoned over cute shorts and tank top, would look cute with ankle cut or capri slim pants too. The color and print are simply adorable, and fun. It's a serious shirt, thats not so serious. I love it! I would normally buy tops in xxs-xs but I grabbed this in a 2 for an even more relaxed, longer look.

Not the greatest fit on this one, even for a "relaxed" item. Shoulder seams fall way past my shoulders (you can see this on the model pic), sleeves are too short, hitting way above my wrist bones (you can see this on the model pic as well). Billowy/loose in the body. Ordered in my usual blouse size 8, but a 6 would have been much better (I'll have to roll the sleeves anyway). Cotton is a little rough/scratchy, needs a few washes. (At least not see thru this time, thank goodness.) Quasi rumply out of the dryer, you will or will not be able to wear it like that depending on your tolerance for disheveledness. Color a little lighter than I was expecting, will be nice with white jeans or shorts. Didn't even see this item until it was final sale, frustrated with how quickly some things are hitting final sale.

I love it - the weight of the gingham is a little more substantial which is perfect -It's crisp and relaxed - so casual without being sloppy! I sized down to a 12 from my usual 16 - and still have room - so it runs big. I love that J. Crew is finally making shirts in all styles versus the slim perfect fit - which just wasn't a forgiving "perfect" fit for me! Yay - I think you all got it right with the new shirt collections - classics for my closet! Thank you!
