No. 2 pencil skirt in Donegal wool

I absolutely adore J Crew skirts and this one is added to the list. I love the green with the speckle of cream, blue and black. The skirt fits perfectly, true to size and is great for daytime or nighttime. Highly recommend to those who love the J Crew pencil skirt, no one does it better than the Crew!

I paired this with the Tippi Mockneck for a super easy and pulled together work outfit. I sized up one from my usual to allow for a bit more length and less pull across the thighs, and I am happy with the decision. Definitely recommend as an easy work staple.

This a classic staple skirt- perfect for work or dress it up if your going from work to a party. It runs slightly longer than last years pencil for a slimmer profile. The price is right too!!

Bought this skirt on sale, and the smallest size left was a 2. I'm 5'6" and 115 lbs, so I probably could've used a 0, but I figured a pencil skirt would be slim-fitting. Wrong. Although the waist is okay, the "hips" hit halfway down my thighs and pooched out like midplaced jodhpur seams. Fabric is nice (midweight wool and lined), so I had it altered, figuring it will be a good winter work staple.

I love this skirt, it's classic, flattering, and lined. Wide waistband, sits at natural waist. I have it in 3 colours and expect to continue expanding my collection.

I bought this skirt because the Donegal wool dress was a poor fit for me. I was expecting the black/grey color to be similar to a charcoal grey, but it reads light grey to me. I also thought the skirt would be similar to last year's double serge wool skirt, but it isn't. The fit is different - this version is longer (below knee for me at 5'4'') and it sits higher on the waist. The waist is roomier this year vs. last year's double serge wool pencil. The wool on this skirt is fairly thin and the lining is noisy when I walk. Overall, a disappointment.
