Washed trouser short with belt

I loved the look of these online but ordered the white and they felt/looked a little bit like pajamas...they're super soft and if you're looking for a slouchy short these are it! But I was hoping for a little more structure. They just weren't flattering on me.

The fabric is so soft. The shorts drape and hang beautifully. If you're between sizes, size down.

So I wear something between a 4 and 6 in bottoms. I’d say my waist is 27.5 inches. I’m 5’1; 32 years old and 137 pounds. I’d say I’m average build. I took the Jcrew size “quiz” and it recommended I purchase a 28. So I got 28 in the light blue. The shorts are beautiful. They appeared really well made and not see through. However, the 28 was massive. Even after tying the belt it still slid off my hips. They are cotton but even still no amount of shrinkage would have kept those shorts on my hips. Ultimately I sent them back but if you’re going to buy them; get a size or two down.
