Belted A-line midi denim skirt

I have a tiny waist (28) but big hips (40-41) so I need to take an 8 or 10. Bought the 8 because it is A-line yet I cant breath because the waist is so tiny. Normally I always have to have my skirts taken in because I have a tiny waist so this is very strange. Unless I got a mislabeled one, I will need to exchange for a bigger size. Otherwise, the body of the skirt is large. In terms of style- the paper bag is nice and the denim is that 90s ticker denim.

I've had this skirt for about a month and have happily worn it several times. I will say that compared to other JCrew pieces in the same size, I find the waist small. If I wear it to work, I usually end up undoing one or both of the closures (it has an internal hook-and-eye clasp, and a button, in addition to a zipper fly, and a belt...arguably overkill) to give myself some breathing room. I love the style and get compliments on it. It's really nice for fall because the denim has a nice weight to it, and i'm digging the 70s vibe.

This is exactly what I was looking for! Great quality, not too heavy not too light. Could be dress up with boots or sandals. Love it!

If you knew my dress code you would say, no way. I have been looking for a skirt like this for years!!! This skirt crosses off all of my must haves , quality denim with a little flare! The belt is a bonus. The loops are wide enough for me to switch out a variety of belts and scarves. I love this skirt sooo much I wore it twice in one week! JCrew, you nailed it!

It's an ok skirt, but I returned. Ordered a size up to accommodate pear shape and it was riding up a bit over my hips. Waist was perfect. Fabric didn't fall, but held shape and felt a bit stiff. Fabric is the old non stretch denim that's back in style. Would have been great with a pair of warm tights for weekends. Ultimately I returned it because wasn't in love with the bulky tie and paper bag waist detail. I'd say this is a skirt that may work for some for sure, just not for me.
