Featherweight cashmere column skirt

I was worried I had waited too long to order this beautiful sweater skirt when my size sold out long before I made the purchase. The fickle finger of fate came my way with a great sale price point and Voilà --my size was available so I wasted no time placing my order!! I absolutely love the bright and vibrant Neon Bougainvillea color--spectacular. The column fit is exactly what I love, fitted but forgiving in a sweater skirt plus I size up to give a little extra room to an old body. Although the cashmere is featherweight, living in the Sonoran Desert with triple digit heat as a norm for the next 5 months this skirt will be waiting until fall to be worn with a fabulous sweater, some boots and Navajo jewelry. The only downside of this skirt is that it is very long on a short woman like myself at 5'3" so I may need to have the tailor take it up 4"-5" to not be dragging the floor.

I purchased the NEON BOUGAINVILLEA which is a beautiful shade of pink. The skirt fits perfectly and is a thin cashmere for which you must wear a slip. The skirt fits and hangs perfectly. I am pairing it with the matching cashmere top. And it is definitely one skirt that can be dressed up or down with a white t-shirt or white buttondown. Love the color!

This skirt is so classic and versatile- you will have it in your closet for years! Pair it with the black cashmere cardigan, take your pick, or add a pop of color on top.

Given the name of this item “featherweight” I thought this cashmere skirt will be thinner but it’s actually substantial and warmer than I expected. I was envisioning wearing this through Spring and maybe cooler summer days but if your not the type that leans cold — or you’re going through the change in life — this may be limiting. (I’m not in menopause yet but it’s not long for me and my friends who are have warned me about buying too many cozy clothes). I know TMI but it may help my 45+ sisters. Long story short i initially bought 2 online one in black because it was black and the pink because what a gorgeous color. It’s better in person and when I went to return them both my lovely store associate convinced me to keep the pink because it was so stunning. He suggested pairings from the J. Crew racks — he re-sold this skirt to me and tapped into my hesitation on the pink one because it really is a great color. I’ll definitely find days and ways to use it.
