Side-slit maxi skirt in patchwork print

I like this skirt. I just got it yesterday and I am not quite sure how I will style it yet. It's more voluminous than I imagined, and it's very beachy feeling. The fabric is very light and a bit transparent, but there is a second layer to line the portion from waist to upper thigh. so I don't feel like I need to wear a slip. I sized down, but I think I could have gotten away with sizing down again. (For reference, I usually wear a plus size, I bought XXL and I think I could have gotten away with XL.) But I am impressed with the workmanship of the skirt. It's not a print that looks like patches - It really is a patchwork skirt.

I had bought another J.Crew elastic waist skirt that worked out OK for me , but would have been even better if it was one size smaller. So based on my prior experience and other reviews, I went for the smallest size available, which was XXS and the skirt is still roomy. For reference I am 115lb, 5.3 and usually wear size 2. The XXS size would easily fit someone who wears size 10. If I had purchased the size recommended by the J.Crew fit tool, the skirt would have been unwearable and waste of money since it is final sale.

I was so disappointed because the skirt is so huge that I can’t even wear it. I also can’t return it.

This is the cutest and most comfortable summer outfit. The paisley patchwork pattern is the most beautiful color and very soft. The skirt is slightly large but I am good with the fit. I also purchased the matching top which is so cute. I am 5'2" and wear this outfit with flat white sandals and did not have to hem. I purchased this outfit as an afterthought, but it is now one of my favorite outfits.

The pictures don’t do justice to how pretty the pattern is. Really nice. Fabric is lightweight cotton. The skirt runs huge. Definitely size down!!!
