17 customer reviewsWhat customers are saying:
Customers generally like this skirt for its flattering pencil shape, breezy linen-blend fabric, and rich color options. Many say it feels true to size or close to it, though some customers suggest sizing up a bit for a more comfortable waist fit in the slimmer cut. The skirt seems easy to style for work, weekends, or a night out, and several customers especially like how the fabric holds its shape without feeling scratchy or clingy. Overall, it comes across as a chic, versatile warm-weather piece with a polished look.

The HORROR
September 1, 2023This is my first JCrew review after 10+ years as a customer. I read ALL the reviews for this skirt but took a chance bc it was super on sale, I love a pencil skirt, and it seemed a good way to mix it up for summer. I've gambled before so was ready for a poor fit, or it just not fitting into my regular rotation. I was NOT ready, however, for how bad this was. The fabric is slightly stiff/thick but still somehow see through and still clings to every panty line and creates lumps where I don't have any. I'm not bottom heavy or curvy and have a pretty flat rear. It's not a sizing issue. Sizing up one still won't make it skim like the photos. Going up to where it won't grab and squeeze flesh means it sits on hips with an odd tulip shape/flared bottom. I'm trying to understand how it worked for others because it's horrible on me.

Subtle Sexy!
August 31, 2023I bought this skirt on a whim and wow! What a perfect pencil skirt. I think what I especially like is this fabric combination which adds structure but it falls in a way that makes it look classy and not clingy. As far as whether it's appropriate for work due to the slit, I guess it depends on your workplace. I personally don't think it's too risque but I'm 5'7". I can also envision this for a night out with the right accessories. Also, I didn't go with the recommended size (size 0). I went with my waist size (26/size 2).

Business meets Sexy
August 31, 2023I got the navy, so it looks less obviously sexy than the brighter colors. Looks great with business blouse or for a more relaxed look, wear a good quality T. But make no mistake...The skirt is very flattering because of the fit AND the generous slit. (The slit also makes it much easier to walk in!) Quality is quite decent. I went with a 12 which is a very comfortable fit at 5'5"and 155 lbs
