No. 2 Pencil® skirt in emerald tweed

This is the second tweed skirt I have purchased from J Crew. I like that it is form fitting while the material is thick, allowing you to tuck in your shirt without showing through the skirt. This skirt is a little longer than the one I have, it is longer than a standard pencil skirt and falls below the knee. While longer than I expected, the fit is flattering. I am curvy, 5’5 and 140#s, for reference.

I bought this as part of a suit great will wear a plain tee with it.

I'm a big fan of old J Crew. The quality and style are just not there anymore. This skirt is the perfect example. I have more No. 2 pencil skirts in my closet than anyone should. Purchased this with the matching lady jacket as a fun holiday outfit. Its fine, but the fabric is flimsy and rather cheap feeling. I'll wear it for the holidays, loving the sparkle but this will not have the wear and staying power that my wool pencils from years ago have. Over all its a big meh. Please bring back the colors and panache of Jenna's J Crew!

The idea of an emerald tweed drew me to this skirt. After the first review I was afraid I wouldn’t like it but I really do. It is not the thick wool, superb quality tweed of old but still is a nice skirt. The gold with little flecks of purple thread aren’t flashy but just enough. I found also compared to J.Crew’s recent No. 2 pencil skirts it was a little more narrow in the hips by about an inch. It is going to pair great with a navy ruffle-sleeve top in satin crepe!

I love J Crew pencil skirts, especially their tweeds, not the case with this tweed pencil skirt. The material is lightweight, cheap feel and appearance. The skirt has gold threads throughout, this was unexpected and it runs large. Very poor quality, something I never expected from J Crew. I own almost every pencil skirt they have made, give or take a few I missed out on. If the rest of the fall lineup is the same poor quality as this skirt I will be returning those as well.
