Scoopneck resume dress in stretch linen blend

The good: great quality, animal-free vegan friendly material, perfect length, flattering well-placed darts in the chest that allow for a D cup so no squished uniboob. The bad: I find it low cut, as you can see the cleavage line in the middle of my chest at the top, so I’ll have to wear a shirt underneath. But my biggest problem is the pockets. They make my outer thighs look huge and are super unflattering. The model wearing the blue dress doesn’t have that problem but she is stick skinny with no curves at all. I’m so bummed because it really detracts from what could have been a nice silhouette and emphasizes my problem area. J. Crew can you please make versions that are pocket-free?

Such a flattering dress! Thanks to the reviews I sized down to a 2 (usual dress size range of 2-4) I found this stretch linen version ran larger than the cotton dry clean only resume dress I purchased earlier in 2023 in size 4. I'm 127lbs, 5'6" 34b proportionally slightly bigger thighs and butt to upper body. Big fan of resume dresses and love that this version is machine washable!

This should be a staple dress in your closet. I purchased it in both colors. I plan to wear it with sweaters, and my favorite JCrew jean jacket.

As a Resume Dress fan (I have about five total in the wool and linen versions) this dress continues the trend of a flattering work dress with comfortable fabric. Plus, pockets! The dress runs generally true to J. Crew sizing, if a bit big. I took my usual size 2 and found the fit to be what I expect from the linen Resume Dresses (the wool tends to run a smidge smaller). The blue color is vibrant and gorgeous, and the scoopneck is a nice option for the summer.

It’s a nice looking dress and it has pockets and is comfortable, runs a little large but the whole thing was wrinkled beyond repair once I sat down in my car for my 15 min commute. Any of the linen blend material from J Crew does this. (I have a few dresses and a few skirts that are so cute but the wrinkling problem has made me stop purchasing items in this fabric. If you are gonna be standing all day long, these dresses and skirts are for you.

Love this dress! It’s a little long for me so I need to get it hemmed. I first ordered a size 8 which by their size chart would be the correct size. Returned it and got a size 6 and the fit is perfect.
