32 customer reviewsWhat customers are saying:
Customers generally love the polished, classic pencil-skirt look, saying it works well for the office and pairs easily with blazers or dressier pieces. The stretch fabric and front slit are often praised for comfort and easy movement, and many customers found the fit true to size, though a few suggested sizing up if they wanted a bit more room. A common note is that the fabric feels thin and unlined, so customers who prefer a more substantial, opaque skirt may want to keep that in mind. Overall, it comes across as a versatile work staple with a sleek silhouette.

Cheapest
January 28, 2026Absolutely the worst quality, see through and thinnest so called wool. I am so shocked at the downfall of the material year by year. So sad.

Terrible Fabric
January 15, 2026Hands down the worst item I’ve purchased from J. Crew. Look closely at the photos of the model and notice the fabric puckering. Was hoping for a staple skirt for work. Unfortunately the fabric used is clingy, lightweight and thin. When held up to the light, you can see through the skirt. Unlined. It has a stretch that leads to clinging and puckering. You’ll see every dimple and bulge. This one is a huge miss, even at a steep discount.

The perfect pencil skirt
December 2, 2025Classic pencil skirt that has some stretch but maintains its shape. I wear them all the time to court.
