Turtleneck sweater in Supersoft yarn

I bought this sweater, and like everybody else, loved how soft it felt. My experience was also very similar to those reviewer‘s that commented on the sweater pilling after only a few days. I was glad that I didn’t purchase another one, as I had planned, because the quality of this sweater is completely abysmal. The quality of J.Crew sweaters has gone downhill drastically. I had purchased another sweater similar in softness to this turtleneck, and in just a week, it was pilling like crazy as well.

I wanted to like this but I wasn't a fan. I thought it would be chunkier. It's soft. But I'm going to try out the swingy alpaca in the hopes that it's more chunky winter than this. I also think you might have to size down. I ordered a small, but it's got about an inch material on either side (when you hold your arms out parallel to the ground). I don't like my clothes tight fitting, but I don't want that much extra material. Usually I am a size small in J.Crew so something has to be oversized for me to go to an xs. Teddi for instance I like to size up, but everything else usually fits true to size.

Good: fit & fabric The fit is on the larger side but comfortable not frumpy. The yarn truly is "super soft". Meh: quality/construction After only (hand!) washing twice, I went to put it on, only to discover a one inch rip at a shoulder seam.
