'47 X J.Crew brushed wool Notre Dame sweater
that pays homage to vintage campus style. Twin brothers Henry and Arthur D'Angelo arrived in the United States from Italy in 1947 and got their start selling sports memorabilia outside Fenway Park. More than 75 years later, '47 is known for its attention to detail and family-first mentality. Our limited-edition collab features chain-stitched lettering on our soft brushed wool sweaters. Inspired by classic Shetland sweaters, this 100 percent wool crewneck is brushed for softness and the textured, "hairy" appearance it's known for. Though this type of sweater has been around for centuries, it gained popularity with college students in the midcentury and became a staple of Ivy style. Whether you wear it with chinos, denim or a suit, it's always the right choice. Please note that the sizes listed are men's. Very nice sweater, but a little too thin.
October 28, 2025This is a nice sweater that definitely keeps to the traditional Ivy League collegiate style. The words are beautifully done on the sweater. My only complaint is that they tried to emulate the classic Shetland or Shaggy Dog sweaters that are customary of Ivy style and this sweater is quite thin compared to one you’d buy from a traditional Ivy merchant like J. Press or O’Connell’s

Nostalgia Re-Imagined
October 6, 2025Gorgeous vintage inspired collegiate sweater. Bought this for my father-in-law for Christmas and he is going to love it. The embroidery is nicely stitched, with no gapping or loose threads. The wool is soft to the touch. It is not overly bulky but will definitely keep you warm. Perfect nostalgic vibes.

September 27, 2025This is super cute and I love that my school was included but there's no denying it is itchy and not soft. I can get a similar non-itchy sweater directly from my school for a cheaper price, so this is probably a return. Fit is TTS.
