J. Crew Cashmere then and now
May 17, 2015I love the look of J. Crew. Just about everything. I've been a loyal buyer of J. Crew since the 1990s. Unfortunately, over the past 4 or 5 years, I've seen a drastic change. Take this cashmere hoodie. I bought a cashmere sweater back in 2001 from J. Crew that I still wear today. It's still perfect. I would put the quality of that cashmere up against any famous European manufacturer. I bought this sweater and was utterly startled by what I received. Terrible. You can say all you want that you collaborate with the "finest Italian Mills" for your cashmere, but even the finest mills have their low-grade left-overs that they will sell and ship to Indonesia for manufacture. Don't be fooled by the hype. I won't be buying J. Crew Cashmere again.

Winter with a Hint of Spring
April 3, 2015I love my J Crew Cashmere Popover Hoodie. I had previously purchased a forest green popover, but wanted something with a slight hint of spring. The heather river is a beautiful soft blue and it adds a nice light feeling to offset all those dark winter colors. Since our New York spring can sometimes feel like late fall or early winter, I know I'll be able to use this sweater for a few more months. And, because it is a light color, it will look great. I also love the soft feeling and excellent quality of the sweater.
