Ribbed mockneck sweater in Supersoft yarn

One of my favorite sweaters

I purchased 3 sweaters in the “supersoft” yarn and while they are (1) supersoft, (2) extra-warm, they PILL LIKE CRAZY. They pill with the first wear. They pill to the point no matter what fabric shaver or method you use, your sweater will look like it’s been mangled by the washer (even before you ever wash it) and your dog. They have been relegated to home sweaters and pajamas. If I have guests coming over, I will literally change out of them because they look ridiculous. But they are soft and warm. Expensive pajamas……

I got the jade green and it is a beautiful color. The fabric is soft and comfortable and the fit is true to size. I normally order a small and that's what fit me.

I have been waiting to order this sweater in the Brilliant Orange when it was finally available in my size. I patiently waited for it to arrive. I opened the package and its not even what I ordered. It was a horrible long sleeve shirt in this awful rusty brown color. How is it that J Crew seems to keep sending the wrong orders or wrong sizes? Getting really tired of this. This seems to be happening much too often. Now of course the orange color isn't even available to reorder. Hope the person who did receive my orange sweater enjoys it.

I recently bought this sweater for a fantastic sale. When it arrived, I noticed that there was no tag on it. I didn't think too much of that, because I've noticed some companies no longer place tags on clothing. But, then I noticed (dog?) fur on the sweater. I don't own a pet. I also saw that the manufacturer's tag (the one with fiber content and washing instructions) was cut off. ALL clothes bought in the US must have that label/tag. It's very clear that the sweater had been worn. Now, aside from the dog fur, the sweater was in decent condition. It was such a gorgeous sweater, and such a bargain, that I didn't have the heart to return it. I did speak to customer service, who offered me a 20% refund. Seems stingy for delivering a product that was clearly worn. As long as you receive a new sweater, it's a great one to buy! However, I am now weary of final sales on JCrew -- seems that they are re-selling returned clothes at bargain prices.

I really loved this sweater when I first got it. Wore it without washing. It was soft, cozy, and warm without being itchy or too hot. However, fast forward to the first time I wore it after a wash (washer on gentle, laid flat to dry); I knew there was a problem when I opened my washer and everything was covered in brown fuzz. The second time I wore the sweater (post-wash) everything, everyone, and everywhere I went, was covered in brown fuzz. It was stuck in my eyelashes, stuck to my kid, fuzzies on the carpet. Terrible shedding from this sweater. I can’t recommend it, and likely will not wear it again because it legit makes a mess :(
