Shrunken wool turtleneck sweater

Love the length. "Shrunken" is a little deceiving. It's not too short. I got the navy and the deep jade. The colors are nice and intense. My favorite part is that the neck is fitting, unlike the classic turtleneck sweaters which have a looser neck.

This sweater reprises everything I loved about last year's Tilly sweaters - a great weight that lends itself to layering and a streamlined fit that works well under jackets. I'm short-waisted and the cropped length is perfect with conventional fitting pants and skirts. Fingers crossed for durability - but right out of the box, it's an immediate favorite.

I love the fit of this piece! It's great for petite / short torso's. Looks great with high waisted skirts or jeans.

Last time I purchased J Crew merino wool turtlenecks was 2010 in gray and ivory. Can say that the navy shrunken wool turtleneck I purchased this season was of thicker material and of improved quality. Love the style...boxy and cropped, but not too cropped or too boxy. Proportion looks great when paired with pencil skirts or high-waisted trousers. Would not pair this untucked with a-line or full skirts or low-rise pants. Works with those proportions if you tuck the turtleneck in. Wanted to buy more, but waited too long. Sigh.

I liked the look of this enough to try it, but it's too short for me. I am long waisted and both the SM and Medium were too short.

Perfect, light, slightly shorter fit. Good 3 season piece.
