Ribbed mini swim short

I was excited to see that J.Crew offered at least one bathing suit bottom with full coverage. Unfortunately, the fabric used in this line of swimwear is very low quality. It is scratchy and does not stretch. Is this a product of the fabric being recycled? I support sustainability, but not at the price of feeling like I'm walking around in a recycled plastic bottle. Just a caution if you decide to go for this on final sale.

I bought a swimsuit with shorts last year on a whim and fell in love. I think it looks way better and more slimming than all of the high-waisted bikini bottoms out there. Excited to see J.Crew was offering a similar cut this year in a ribbed fabric. Love at first try on! TTS, I'm a solid M/8 in bottoms and the M fits perfectly. A little retro, especially with the matching underwire top.
