Leather high-shaft stacked-heel boots

I love these boots! I bought them in black and my mom ordered the brown pair, both versions are absolutely stunning. I went with my standard 8 and am happy I did. They are slightly tight in the toe but just fine with thin socks, and I think they will stretch to be perfect. My mom wears an 8.5, so I was able to try hers on, and I found my heels slipped out of them. I would recommend going with your true size, especially if you have narrow feet (a half size up would work if you prefer thick socks or have wider feet). The shape of these boots is just stunning, and I love the leather. As another review noted, the calf area will not be fitted for those of us with very thin legs, but I still think it looks good! I love the height of the shaft. The only negative worth noting is that the smooth leather on these boots makes boot creasing and wrinkling leather really noticeable. I am keeping the stuffing my boots came with to help combat this.

I wish the leather had that burnished caramel color of the photos. It's a rather cheap-looking all one color yellowy tan, on a generic synthetic sole, with a cheap looking heel. Rather too pointy-toed, which makes my foot look longer. But a smaller size would pinch. Not particularly comfortable or flattering. Got them at a very deep discount so if I donate them to the local thrift shop, I won't feel so bad. Maybe if I use leather oil on them I can deepen the color and make them look more like the photo - which is very misleading.

These boots are versatile and seem well-made but have not been put through the paces of my commute to work to really know if they can stand up to some other brands that are known for their good design and quality. I do wish they were a little tighter fitting on my calves but did not expect them to be. I do not find them difficult to remove but could totally see how they could be on a shapelier foot and calf. My feet are narrow and my calves are like sticks. I am a 9 and purchased a 9–I would not size up or down. To me, they are very much true to size. I look forward to having fun pairing them with jeans, dresses, skirts. They are not tight enough to go under jeans unless they are truly straight, wide-legged or belled.
