Gwen flats in croc-embossed leather

So I ordered these shoes in a 6 and a few days later got an email saying they were sold out. But they still had them in 5 1/2 so I ordered them. Sometimes J Crew shoes run big or get bigger as you were them. Well, when they arrived I could not believe how big they were. I had to put grips in the heel to keep them on and I am afraid after a few wears they will be too big to wear again. When I purchased them they were on final sale and could not be returned. I love J Crew shoes and have probably 20 pairs I have purchased one the years so this was my first real disappointment. So, reviews show some found them to be way to small to way to big. Something is definitely off.

I just assumed the flats would be made out of soft leather material - they are not. The material is hard, completely not flexible. The flats themselves are really cute, but truly, it hurts to walk in them all day. I never knew flats could be so painful. I'm keeping them because they were on sale and I don't want to go through the hassle of returning them, but I would not purchase them again.

I bought this shoe in red but had to retune it because it was too big. I was sad as they didn’t have a smaller size. When I saw that my size became available weeks later, I immediately repurchased them! Live the croc embossed and the red!

I bought a pair in red. They are true to size and sizing is consistent with a half dozen pair of crew shoes I’ve bought over the past decade. They are leather and so they will, naturally, not be as flexible as synthetic materials but I didn’t find them to be uncomfortable, difficult to wear for several hours or inconsistent in comfort or feel than any other well-made leather shoes I own. I am glad I ignored previous negative comments because I think they’re beautiful and fantastic!

I probably should’ve sent these back but I tried them on on a hard surface and scuffed up the bottom of them. It actually feels like the right one is slightly smaller than the left. I’m hoping to break these in around the house before I can wear them to work. The only reason I don’t like them is because the right one is a little tight. I do like the styling of them

Got my normal size and while my foot fit in the shoes and I had room to wiggle my toes there was just no flexibility in the shoe at all. They felt like cardboard and instantly went back.
