Large carryall tote in pebbled leather

The leather is supple and exactly what I wanted in a tote. My only regret is that I chose to have it monogrammed in sliver. Thinking this would add some panache to the tote... it instead did just the opposite! I chose the silver for the monogram color and it was SHINY silver. I didn't see any feedback from other reviewers about monogram colors, so I just didn't give it a lot of thought. I wear a lot of platinum jewelry and thought it would complement. When I opened the packaging the silver really caught me off guard. It's very cheap looking... I mean awful looking. Monogram items cannot be returned and I thought long and hard what to do. I was very uncomfortable using the tote the way it appeared. So I took a black permanent marker to the monogram and darkened it. It's not a perfect solution, but it's better because it's not glaring anymore. My advice is to just get it embossed and not in a color... these are not muted tones... they are SHINY and cheapens the whole look.

I was very excited about this tote and ordered the warm sepia color. The bag is beautiful, but unfortunately the quality is poor. Within 2 weeks of daily use, the stitching at the seams has begun to come apart, and the leather itself has become scuffed all over. I don't think I'm subjecting the bag to heavy stress or anything (holds my wallet, phone, keys, etc., nothing too heavy). Also, the leather is thinner than I was expecting. Overall - I was disappointed and did not find this purchase to be a good value.

I purchased this tote in Navy and thought it would be perfect for work. On the 3rd day of use, the handle (stitching) starting coming apart from the bag. I only put a few file folders/papers in it, so its not like the contents weight caused the handle to separate. I waited to actually purchase it, and Its frustrating that the bag is such poor quality. Of course, the navy is no longer available. Definitely not worth the price-and I’m a frequent JCrew shopper.
