Short-sleeve sequin dress in gingham

I've been following this dress for a while now. I discovered it again ON SALE no less, and it did not disappoint. As other reviews state the graphic is inlayed over clear square sequins all sewn to an ivory dress. Never seen anything like it before. Yes the sequins rotate but they can be corrected if it bothers you. I love it! It's so incredibly different- heels or jute sandals - this is your dress. I actually wore it to work and I got so many compliments!

I absolutely loved this idea; unexpected, classic yet flirty and fresh.... but the torso was shapeless; loved the short sleeve, pockets and the length but I think a proper waist, not gathered, and maybe a slightly more tapered line would make this SENSATIONAL! It just was not flattering at all; I even ordered a second one as the first was just huge. I tried a belt but realized that a belt would ruin the sequins. Sad to send both back....

Anyone who has ever worn sequins (or beads or any kind of ornamentation) knows that they are never perfect. Eventually some fall off, and some get tweaked and go the wrong way. It's just the nature of the beast - not for perfectionists. If you can get past all that, this dress is really fun. I think it runs a tad large. I am 5'4", 120 lbs and 34C, and my usual size 4 has some extra room. I probably could have fit into a size 2. At the sale price, it's a bargain.

I so wanted to like this dress - the idea of of sequin gingham is fantastic. I order up a size to not have as clinging - planned on making more a causal dress. Fit was fine - my true size would have made a little more va-va-voom. Why I am giving it a lower rating is because of the sloppiness of the sequin placement. As another reviewer mention - this is not a print that clear quins are applied over but rather a patter made by the sequin and the sequins are off in places. I am not a perfectionist but the glaring issues would annoy me too much to ever allow me to wear this dress (especially in the chest area). The rear also had a row on mistakes. I would be sure anyone I was near while wearing this would be looking at the flaws. They are too obvious and do not even need to be close up to see. I am providing only a couple of pictures of the issues. The areas are are perfectly done are divine. Maybe this is one that was made from a bad bolt.

if you are uncomfortable with eclectic fashion you probably won't care for this dress. if you are, you can see yourself in this dress with sneakers or flats or sky high slingbacks - each merched out for a different look. it's fabulous.

The concept of this is funky and awesome. I love me some sequins. the fabric is a little clingy/staticky but I like how is hangs on my height. The sequins, if unaligned at all, don't adhere to the plaid pattern. It's a risky execution. Not sure how well it'll work. Thinking about it. I love the uniqueness of this. It's heavy, as you might expect. If you're under 5'8, it might look too long.
