Boy-meets-girl utility shirt

It's a bit boxy. But it's cute. And with a shirt under that fitted ... It works.

I love this cute little top/shirt. Yes, it is short-waisted, but that is one of the reasons I was drawn to it. My body type looks best in high-waisted pants, pencil skirts. I would describe the shirt as “fitted boxy” as although it is boxy it is definitely not oversized, so do NOT size down. I usually buy L or XL tops, which translate into numerical sizes 14 - 16. I find that most J.Crew clothes run a tad smaller than other “designers” I buy but it’s primarily because their clothes are usually more fitted than most company’s clothes run right now. I bought this top in a size 16 and it fits like most (fitted) size 16’s do. I have washed it according to the label directions and it did not shrink or otherwise deteriorate & I didn’t have to iron it afterwards. My only regret is that I only have it in one color. Bring it back in more colors and fabrics J. Crew !

The top is cute. I bought it because I am fond of J.Crew's quirkier inventiveness, which I consider this creation to be. I bought it in a tall, even though I am but 5' 4", because of the helpful reviews pointing out just how cropped it was, and it is just long enough. A size 8 fit my 37" chest comfortably. I am an anomaly in that I actually iron my clothes, so the worries about how wrinkled it after washing may be a challenge, but I will persevere.
