Collection Thomas Mason® for J.Crew boatneck top

Although almost every reviewers said this top is not same as picture, I had a hope to get the Right one (Better fit than others). It was a real box shape (rectangle) and do not show the slender shape of my body AT ALL. Along with the boatneck and the thick fabric made my neck looks even like a turtle. Too bad to make my body look shorter and fatter than it is.

I love all stripe shirts so this one seemed perfect, especially on sale but I have to return it---the material is really like an oxford shirt. This is a lovely shirt but just not what I expected at all. Too formal.

I found this shirt perfect. It’s a polished cotton and is not heavy but has more body then other Thomas Madison shirts. It’s true in size and is not designed as an oversized cut. I have taken size 6 and 8 in other Thomas Mason shirts but also sizes 12 and 14. I took a 12 in this shirt. The sleeves might seem wide but I feel it’s because they do not taper at the wrist like other shirts do but are straight. The shirt is not meant to be fitted but I think a little boxy. Though the other reviews are negative I really like it and I did buy it on sale. Because it’s not unusual in style like the other shirts I have I would not have paid full price on it.

The sleeves are much wider than pictured and the overall shirt has no shape, very boxy. Also, the fabric is almost water repellent, not soft. This is definitely going back.

The fit is true to size (xxxs), except that the sleeves are too wide. The style, however, does not work for non-stretching fabric. The shirt sits on top of and grabs my shoulders and restricts my movement. I am also not sure what type of cotton this fabric is made of: It feels and looks like waterproof raincoat polyester type of fabric, not cotton at all. It does not even look like water proof cotton in my icon trench coat. I have a tuxedo shirt from 3 years ago, and the cotton is completely different (real and high qualit cotton).

I bought this because of the shirting material. The quality is very high, but the sleeves are really wide. They look nothing like the picture - perhaps because they are rolled up in the picture. This would have been a great addition to the wardrobe but the sleeves killed this for me. Sadly, I will be returning.
