Universal Standard for J.Crew cupro tunic dress

I am a JC junkie or addict! I love JC style of clothing and this item is no Exception! It’s so Gorgeous!!!! I ran into it, when I typed in the search bar- Silk! And yes, it’s silk! And it’s so pretty!!!! It’s kind of futuristic, but it’s flawless in Execution. I bought size M and I’m 5.4, 140p and bra size 34C... I’m intending to wear it the next summer and on vacation!!!! I love it! Get it ladies, if you are confident about your Figure! It’s slimming and very flattering! I would say- it kind of makes you look like Kardashians, but without fake additions!

This was my first time shopping at J Crew since the addition of plus sizes. I bought the XL based on the "True Size" guidelines. I'd heard great things about Universal Standard, the price was right and what woman can't use another little black dress? I would describe my shape now as an apple-pear. I'm 5'7" and wear a 16-18 blouse and a 18-20 W pant. Naturally, the top half of the dress was huge and the lower half was too tight. I didn't see how going up or down a size would help matters. Additionally, the dress came horribly wrinkled and would have needed steaming or even dry-cleaning before it could be worn. The "Cupro" was shiny and heavier than I expected, too. I returned it.

I purchased this dress during a flash sale and got it at a ridiculously low price. When it arrived, it looked like it had been crumpled up and stuffed into a bag and left that way for months! They obviously shipped me a discard. I contacted J Crew who said it could be returned but they were out of stock. They also offered to pay for dry cleaning. I chose to keep the dress, and paid for cleaning on my own. (Thanks anyway) The dress is super comfortable and great for travelling. It is however HUGE! It has pockets which I love, and doesn't wrinkle easily. It's not very flattering on me and I do look like I'm wearing a sack, but with a boyfriend cardigan and slip on shoes, I can travel through airports and be super comfortable!

I was a worried that it might make me look bigger but surprise (!) the fit is quite flattering and the fabric is lovely. I've worn it for work or dressy occasions with jewelry and cute shoes and got several complements, and I've throw on a jean jacket and sandals for more casual fare. Either way, these dresses work well. The front slit does go up a bit high on the leg when you sit down (for my tastes) but it's manageable.

Love this dress so much I got it in two different colours: black and caravan blue! The fit is both comfortable and stylish at the same time, and the fabric just makes it perfect for casual or more formal occasions (The spandex in the fabric is a big plus). I’m usually 6 on tops and 10 on bottoms, and got this dress in medium which fits just right. These two will be my go-to dresses this summer.

I love this dress but people thought it was sleepwear.
