Very good quality in the fabric. Just what I pictured in my head.

This is a great dress. It's what I think of when I think of J. Crew. It's well-made and something I will wear for years to come. I sized up from a 10 to a 12 to ensure a good fit in the top (5'4"/150ish/38DD). The slip is a little tight across the chest, but can easily be replaced with one that has some stretch to it. It really looks great on- the drawstring waist is super-flattering.

[Employee of jcrew] I have 3 of the Elena dress in the cotton fabric so of course had to try this one. Being the material it is, I knew it would not be as forgiving as the cotton ones, so I ordered a size up. Fit everywhere except the hips because once again, designers put in a liner that doesn't match the shape of the dress. So tight no matter what size I got so it was just uncomfortable. Dress is really beautiful for the right occasion and the right shape of a person. For reference, I'm normally a 16 in a dress, 20 in pants and I got a 12 in all of the cotton Elena dresses. Ordered a 14 in the chiffon dot version and sadly it's going back. I do find it a bit pricey compared to the cotton version, even for the material.
