484 Slim-fit jean in Riverton wash
for guys who like their jeans slim, not skinny. For our denim fabric we went to the Kaihara mill, one of Japan's oldest and most renowned denim producers. This wash replicates a once-washed pair, which is great for the guy who likes the dark denim look but not the whole idea of rigid jeans. Go behind the design of our denim washes.

They noticed the new, slimmer and more tailored cut brings a modern, flattering look, while a few even suggested trying a size up if you prefer a looser feel. Some mentioned that the fabric starts off a bit stiff but softens nicely after a break-in period. Inconsistent quality in delivery
February 5, 2018I ordered the same pair, same wash, same size of this pair of jeans which I had already purchased prior. However, when this second pair came in, it ran large yet was labeled the exact same kind/size (31/30). As a result, I have to go out of my way to return this pair and exchange them. This is the second time this has happened. Also, many of the styles claim to be the same size but are inconsistent in fitting.

More of a skinny fit
December 21, 2017I usually like a slim fit as it is more snug than standard fit but not constricting like a slim. These fit me more like a skinny fit and I have limited motion wearing them. I don’t have big legs by any means and these seem very snug.

Absolutely perfect
October 20, 2017So many complaints here about the updated cut. Yes, they are slimmer than the old 484, with a tighter leg opening; but they are also a vast improvement - the materials, the details, the washes take them to a whole new level. While I still own multiple pairs of the old cut (wear them when walking the dogs mostly) the new 484 fit as if they were tailored. The amount of complaints about the cut change had me so worried that J Crew would switch back that I decided to purchase two pairs of every new dark wash available. The Riverton is a particular favorite since the wash and texture get closer to a “raw” pair than say the selvedge stretch resin rinse, which is slightly more saturated and a little softer. And just like a raw pair, they will stretch a bit with wear (which I cannot say about the overdyed olive or the black Barnet) so I would recommend getting your normal size.

Fit, style is great but EXTREMLY Uncomfortable
May 9, 2017Guess i didnt have any standards untill I tried on some high quality jeans. A friend gifted me a high end denim that I tried on and saw a whole another world. Im so disappointed in Jcrew denim for charging as much as they do they are not even half comfortable as others. I feel I have wasted my money because I cant even return them nor can I wear this jean due to it's such limiting discomfort when moving, walking, etc.

Very Slim
January 28, 2017Everything else besides the fit (wash, feel, fabric) is great. However, this pair of pants is very, very tight. I own a couple of 484s and this pair is most definitely the tightest/slimmest of them all. I would buy them 1 in larger in the waist. Length measurement is accurate.
