Girls' tiered velvet dress

This was an excellent choice for my 10 going on 13 year old. I knew there was no way I would get her to don tights and a pair of dress shoes with it but we made it work with a pair of matching black velvet leggings and patent black boots. The look was sophisticated enough for the holiday festivities but casual and "tweeny" enough for her sport it with confidence and no griping. The cut/design leans towards casual (and it is not lined) but in this case, that really worked for us!

It runs incredibly large. My child wears a 14 with CREWCUTS normally. Between the fact that dress runs large and the lack of shape, the dress lands on her body like a clown suit. The velvet feels nice; it’s a good quality fabric.

My daughter is about 2 weeks shy of age 5 and regularly wears size XS in Crewcuts (has for a while), but this dress was absurdly large on her - the sleeves wouldn't even stay on her wrists, despite the elastic cuffs. That said, the fabric is a good quality and she was very thrilled that it has a glittery button on the back, but we will need to try to quickly exchange for the XXS for our family pictures or this will have to go back altogether.

The nvy colour was more of a dull, steel grey. The style was sloppier tham the picture suggests. The fabric appeared to be good quality, at least.
