BEAMS PLUS two-pleat twill pant

I was so excited to score a pair of these pants; been a fan of what Beams does in Japan, and a collab with J.Crew sounded like a natural extension of both brands. The quality of the fabric and build is high, and feels tough enough to last for years, but unfortunately the sizing must be based on Japanese fits (which I have purchased before). I ordered a Medium--I am a 33" waist--and all J.Crew mediums fit me perfectly. This was extremely tight, I couldn't even close the pants, it was more like a 28" waist or less. I wish J.Crew had adjusted the sizing chart to reflect this. You can buy two sizes up, but then you'll be wearing MC Hammer pants with the sizing of the leg openings increasing as well.
