Well-made jacket, but not unlined/unstructured!
January 9, 2021Purchased this with the intent of having a more casual gray flannel suit option. Like the previous reviewer, I'm pleased with the quality and fit of the jacket (and matching trousers) and will keep it since a traditional gray flannel suit is always worth having, but this jacket is neither unlined or unstructured. It has the same shoulder padding as traditional Ludlow suit jackets, and the chest canvas is just as structured. Hopefully JCrew's online team can address the misleading description!

WARNING: neither Unstructured nor Unlined
January 6, 2021This is listed as unstructured and unlined, but neither is true. It is quite padded at the chest, and the jacket is fully lined. Crazy, right? The good news: It is *very* well made, and the cloth is gorgeous. I decided to keep mine even though I already had something like this. But if you were hoping for something more like a layabout pair of flannel pajamas with lapels, this aint it!!!

Great material, amazing fit!
January 6, 2021This is a great piece of cloth in terms of material and fit. Design and color are also versatile so you can wear this in multiple ways as the Occasion demands! Bought this for less than a hundred, great value! One of the best purchases I have made.

Amazing suit, for the price
December 4, 2020First things first: the fabric is amazing. The slim ludlow cut is one of my favorite fits/styles for a suit. And a grey flannel suit is a staple of a man's wardrobe (though increasingly rare today). And given how ridiculously cheap this suit was during Black Friday, I really can't complain or give anything under 5 stars. That being said, the construction is a little lower level than the ludlow suits of 7+ years ago. In particular, it seems to be of an (at least partially) fused construction, where the outer fabric is fused to the canvas inner layer (instead of stitched at strategic points only). To all outward appearances, however, you can't really tell. And the suit still looks and feels like a thousand dollar suit. However, the fused construction can get warped over time if exposed to rain, humidity, or through improper folding in your suitcase. Still, if you are careful, it shouldn't be a problem. And again, at the current prince, this suit is an absolute steal.
