Converse® Chuck Taylor All Star '70 low-top sneakers

In close to 10 years of wearing chucks, these are my favorite. They’re comfortable and the little details like the extra stitching are great.

Based on the reviews I ordered a half size down and they still fit and looked like freaking clown shoes!! Like most things with J Crew over the last few years the quality is lazy and poor.

I decided to return these shoes because I thought the glossy rubber soles made them look rather cheap and a bit girly. Maybe the original Chucks were glossy, but I prefer a matte finish. If the gloss doesn’t bother you then I recommend them. Order half a size down from your usual shoe size to ensure a good fit.

I purchased these shoes over the summer and fell in love immediately. They look great and have just subtle enough differences from a standard chuck to stand out. Unfortunately in less than 2 months of wearing 3 days a week the rubber soul has come unglued at the front of both shoes and flaps around. The plastic toe cover has also come apart from the canvas. At this point they can't really be worn in public. Maybe I got a dud. Either way, these shoes did not hold up anywhere near practical expectations.

After 1 week of use, fits very nicely, molded to my feet. I wear size 10 with regular chucks but need to go down to size 9 with this specific shoe. It is now my go to shoe, I do not even look at my killshot at all.

Everything about these shoes—from the off-white color to the glossy midsole and toe cap—is an upgrade from regular Chucks. They look clean and polished, and I find myself reaching for them over expensive leather sneakers time and time again. That being said, they run 1/2 size larger than basic Chucks, so consider sizing down.
