Customers really love this blazer for its classic, schoolboy-inspired look, flattering slim shape, and polished details like the gold buttons, lining, and pocket trim. The Italian wool fabric is often described as well made and easy to wear, with several customers calling it a versatile piece that works across seasons and occasions. Fit-wise, it runs on the shorter, more shrunken side, and a few customers sized up for layering or found the sleeves a bit long. Overall, it seems like a sharp, timeless blazer that feels dressy but still easy to throw on.

Perfect!
December 29, 2021It's a perfect jacket for my daughter's school 'dress for success' days. Gold buttons add so much to the look. She absolutely love it!

Cheaper Fabric
October 12, 2021While the fit was expected from J. Crew (shoulders and length were great, the sleeves were a bit long since I'm short), the fabric was thin (98% wool, 2% elastane) with a wide weave. There are gaps (not very apparent) but it says a lot about the quality due to the less fine weave. I miss the contrast inner (I don't care if striped or what, just a different color to make it pop) since this one is plain navy blue.

Sizing is a bit off
September 23, 2021I am a long time J.Crewer and have the orig School Boy and the updated version released a few years ago - both in 6Reg. For reference: I'm 5'4 / 110-112lbs - with slightly broad back and fuller upper arms. Due to vanity sizing, I am now a 0 or 2 in blazers - sometimes Petite 4, but the sleeves are a bit too short in Petites - so i have to order Reg. Due to reviews, I got a 2Reg in the Dalton. Fit wasn't great - a bit too roomy in some places - the arms were especially oddly larger (not length but the width all throughout) than expected - like they belonged on a larger size jacket. Fabric is okay - but nothing compares to the quality from years back.
