Perfect!
December 29, 2021It's a perfect jacket for my daughter's school 'dress for success' days. Gold buttons add so much to the look. She absolutely love it!

Cheaper Fabric
October 12, 2021While the fit was expected from J. Crew (shoulders and length were great, the sleeves were a bit long since I'm short), the fabric was thin (98% wool, 2% elastane) with a wide weave. There are gaps (not very apparent) but it says a lot about the quality due to the less fine weave. I miss the contrast inner (I don't care if striped or what, just a different color to make it pop) since this one is plain navy blue.

Sizing is a bit off
September 23, 2021I am a long time J.Crewer and have the orig School Boy and the updated version released a few years ago - both in 6Reg. For reference: I'm 5'4 / 110-112lbs - with slightly broad back and fuller upper arms. Due to vanity sizing, I am now a 0 or 2 in blazers - sometimes Petite 4, but the sleeves are a bit too short in Petites - so i have to order Reg. Due to reviews, I got a 2Reg in the Dalton. Fit wasn't great - a bit too roomy in some places - the arms were especially oddly larger (not length but the width all throughout) than expected - like they belonged on a larger size jacket. Fabric is okay - but nothing compares to the quality from years back.

Nice Basic Blazer
September 18, 2021I purchased this in black on final sale and was nervous about the fit. Thankfully the fit was good in the shoulders and chest (32b) with the sleeves being a bit long. I'm short, 5'3", but didn't want to purchase the petite because I didn't want the overall length to be too short. I like the shorter length blazers as the longer ones don't look good on my height. The quality doesn't compare to the Schoolboy Blazer, but for the price I paid, the quality is good.

just not the same
September 11, 2021I was excited to receive this jacket after reading the reviews. I’ve worn my 2009 schoolboy until it was threadbare in the elbows. I could tell immediately that this new version was no where near the same quality…the stitching…the weight of the material. This new version has big gaudy plastic buttons instead of metal. The old version had a wonderful necktie type material in the back of the collar…this one has visible fabric felt. Another cool feature was that the old jacket had a different color lining in the sleeves. Unfortunately I cannot even return it because it was final sale.
