Regent blazer in houndstooth wool

I had returned it. Material too rough and tough for the standing-up collar. It was rubbing badly. It was not draping around the body like my other, wool regent blazer, so even at the great price, I had returned. It was not bringing any joy-to put it mildly.

I have a terrible time with blazers. I am a 34DD and slim but fairly straight through my mid section and have a really short torso. Most blazers are either too large in the waist area or too small in the bust area (or a combo) to ever be flattering. Most of the time I stick to zippered blazers, but wanted something i could wear open or closed over just about anything. This blazer is as close as I’ve found to an overall flattering fit. I found it fits a bit smaller than the regular regent. They only had the regular version in my store and when I tried on I found the 4 was perfect buttoned but the 2 was better open and I could still get it buttoned without too much pulling. I purchase this version online in a 4 and probably could have gone with a 6. The 4 is great open but I do get some pulling closed. I liked it enough open to keep it as I’m more likely to wear it open anyway. Id prefer it shorter, but it’s fine if I wear it open. Pattern and colours are versatile.

I love the fabric and the style. Very versatile blazer.

I own several blazers from J. Crew and especially like the Regent fit. They look professional at work and dress up jeans for casual events. I've found them especially versatile when traveling for business.

So I loved the blazer, I was so excited when I got it, however I am 5,2 and 128 pounds and the size 6 blazer was just too big on the arms. Size 4 was tight on the back. Hopefully they make this blazer in a petite soon!!
