Beautiful coat but runs a little small. Fun twist to the classic trench.

Beautifully made, stylish trench. Like another reviewer mentioned, this material is very lux and reads more cotton than wool (no nap, finely woven, lightweight). The trench itself hangs nicely and is very flattering with the belt cinched. There is a gorgeous navy lining and the stitching/detailing are top notch. This is not a warm coat- between the lower neck and the lightweight fabric it will be perfect for spring or fall. Paired with a scarf it could suit for winter if all you were doing was going from the car to an event/meeting. I am an hourglass 14 and this fits true to size or slightly generous in my opinion. I have plenty of room for a sweater or other bulky layer. I am very happy with this purchase and consider this style and the black/white gingham to be timeless. I've worn it twice and have been stopped both times for either a compliment or a query as it where it came from. Like many of the J Crew Collection pieces, there is a substantial coat chain for hanging at the back neck of the garment. This is a little cold on the skin if you don't have a higher neck shirt. The construction is impressive and I am very pleased I purchased this item
