Order at least 1 size up
April 26, 2022Overall, design is pretty. But quality is poor. It is unlined and fabric is thin. Waist is very small. 6 is my normal size for jcrew dresses, but ordered size 8 after reading the review and it fits well except the waist. I wish there’s 1” more at the waist, then it would be perfect.

Pretty retro style dress
April 26, 2022Years ago I had a dress like this that I got at a thrift shop-the shop owner said it was from the 1940's, and this dress reminds me of it. Yes, it does wrinkle, but I like it anyway, and the dark color (navy) kind of hides the wrinkles. I sized up and it fits perfectly.

March 1, 2022I was so excited about this dress but have never been so disappointed in a J.Crew piece before. I cannot BELIEVE that J.Crew would sell a dress of such poor quality. The material is paper thin, cheap in look and feel, and completely see-through (I ordered it in navy). The ties on the arms have a very awkward gap that looks unprofessional given the tailored look of the dress. It’s unlined, which floors me considering the price and style of the dress. The waist runs very, very small but it runs TTS everywhere else. Also, notice how (at the time of writing) the product page shows two different dresses? The dress I received is the dress that’s shown without the model— the one with the short sleeves and the buttons that only go down to the waist. This dress is not worth $200. It has so much potential but the cheap design and quality of the dress just ruin it. So sad!
